Privacy Policy

Effective Date: August 21, 2026

Welcome to VisaPrep. We value your trust and have built this platform with privacy in mind. This Privacy Policy explains exactly what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

We designed VisaPrep to collect only the information needed to provide our service—and nothing more.

By using VisaPrep, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

01

Who We Are

VisaPrep is an AI-powered U.S. visa preparation platform. We help applicants understand their DS-160 application and prepare for their visa interview with greater clarity and confidence.

Privacy is part of the VisaPrep experience because we understand that your visa application contains highly personal information.

02

Information We Collect

Information You Provide

  • —Email address — collected when you sign in or complete a payment.
  • —Your completed DS-160 PDF — you upload it so we can generate your personalised preparation analysis.
  • —Guided preparation information — if you do not have your DS-160 available, you may provide details from your application, review and correct an Application Snapshot, and provide confirmed changes between what you submitted and what is true now.
  • —Your name — as it appears in your uploaded application or is recalled during guided preparation, used to personalise your preparation materials.

Your uploaded DS-160 PDF is securely processed to generate your analysis and is not stored after processing. We retain only the analysis generated from your document — not the document itself. The extracted text is not retained as a separate record.

We retain the confirmed recalled facts, corrected Application Snapshot, confirmed changes, and generated preparation materials as part of your application report. The guided conversation history and intermediate correction messages are not stored as a separate conversation record.

What We Do Not Collect

We do not use third-party analytics tools, tracking pixels, advertising pixels, browser fingerprinting, or session-recording software. We do not use IP addresses for analytics, advertising, cross-site tracking, or profiling. We temporarily process a trusted client IP address to enforce analysis rate limits, but store only a one-way protected value that cannot be used to recover the original IP address for this purpose.

Browser-held information

We may temporarily use browser storage and a private browser access method so you can return to your analysis and so first-party source and content attribution can work. This information is not used for advertising or cross-site tracking.

Content Attribution

When you arrive at VisaPrep through a link shared in our content — such as a YouTube or Instagram video — we may record which content brought you here. This may be recorded when you first visit, even if you do not upload a DS-160. We use this information only to understand which of our content helps applicants find and use VisaPrep. We do not use third-party analytics, tracking pixels, advertising cookies, browser fingerprinting, IP-based tracking, or cross-site tracking of any kind.

03

How We Use Your Information

We use your personal information to:

  • —Generate your personalised VisaPrep analysis and preparation materials from your uploaded DS-160 or the application information you provide when you do not have the document.
  • —Send you secure sign-in codes so you can access your preparation materials.
  • —Process your payment and link your purchase to your application.
  • —Respond to support and deletion requests.
  • —Maintain the security and integrity of our platform.
  • —Comply with legal obligations where required.
  • —Understand which of our content helps applicants find VisaPrep.

04

AI Processing

VisaPrep uses OpenAI's API to analyse a portion of the text extracted from your completed DS-160 PDF, and to process guided answers, recalled application facts, relevant Application Snapshot information, confirmed changes, and related report information. This information is transmitted to OpenAI to generate or update your personalised paid preparation materials and related internal report fields. This existing process may produce a legacy Door 1 narrative internally; it is not shown to customers or used as a fallback when Claude V2 is enabled. Under OpenAI's API terms, data submitted via the API is not used to train their models.

For Door 1 DS-160 Application Insights V2, VisaPrep sends Anthropic's Claude API the verified application facts, relevant visa-category context, and confirmed changes needed to prepare the report. This route does not send the full raw PDF text. Under Anthropic's standard commercial API terms, API content is not used to train its models; Anthropic processes the information under its applicable API terms and settings.

Your personal information is processed to provide Application Insights and personalised preparation materials. VisaPrep does not use it to train AI models.

VisaPrep does not make visa decisions and does not guarantee visa approval.

05

Data Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information:

  • —All data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS).
  • —Session tokens are cryptographically signed and stored in secure, HTTP-only cookies — never written to our database.
  • —One-time sign-in codes are stored as cryptographic hashes and never in readable form.
  • —Access to paid preparation materials requires verified sign-in. Free Application Insights may be accessed through the private browser access associated with the analysis or through verified sign-in.

No method of internet transmission or electronic storage can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. We encourage you to use a secure, private device when accessing your preparation materials.

We design VisaPrep to minimise the amount of sensitive personal information we retain whenever reasonably possible.

06

Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information.

We share your personal information only with the following providers, and only as necessary to deliver our service:

These records may include the referring platform, video identifier, conversion status, and associated analysis reference where applicable. We do not use third-party analytics, tracking pixels, advertising cookies, browser fingerprinting, IP-based tracking, or cross-site tracking for this purpose.
